About the Role
Key Functions:
Assist with setting up tents, tables, chairs, and event signage
Help move and position speakers, sound equipment, and other heavy items
Prepare the reading area for participants and volunteers
Follow setup plans and instructions from event leadership
Work collaboratively with other volunteers to complete setup efficiently
Perform light to moderate lifting and carrying of equipment (20–50 lbs)
Ensure the event site is organized, safe, and ready before the start time
Address minor logistical needs during setup
Maintain a positive attitude and cooperative spirit while serving
Requirements
The Bible Reading Marathon welcomes volunteers to help with:
Church outreach - invite churches to participate
Promotion - creative ideas to reach out and recruit readers and hosts
Onsite Host: welcome readers and direct, sign in, stop, start, etc for 2-3 hours.
Onsite Set Up/tear down: Set up and/or take down the tent and all that is inside it. Friday evening April 17 and Thursday April 23 after 12 noon.
Hospitality: Monitor supplies daily, making sure he tent supplied with snacks and water
